I’m Nick Newhard. I make and play games.

I am a multidisciplinary game designer and team leader with a solid track record of launched games, so please just check out my portfolio or grab my CV.

I love making and playing games — for me, games are equal parts career, lifestyle, and learning.

I enjoy playing D&D or Valheim with friends, sinking my teeth (knife?) into Squanch’s High On Life, any number of FPS sniper games, or settling in for board games like Azul or a deeper “Euro” like Lancaster.

As a leader, I love managing and mentoring small teams, especially game designers and cross-discipline feature teams. I specialize in game play and systems design but, as an erstwhile engineer, I also enjoy prototyping and implementation. While not a career “Level Designer”, I have blocked out levels, created mission content, and tuned levels in several projects.

The perfect role for me affords a mix of leadership, design, creation, and playtesting. I prefer the focused work of just one project at a time, because I can devote my thoughts and energy towards being a strong player advocate and creating the best play experiences possible.
